Feeling the positivity!

Hey All,

It’s been a while since we connected. We are feeling the love at Rush House at the moment mainly due to the mammoth efforts of our friend Madelaine Corr who completed her first London Marathon in aid of Rush House on 28th April 2019. She set herself a fundraising target of £3000 which at one point we were unsure we would reach, in fact I remember thinking if we get to £1000 we’ll be happy. Well, the outpouring of love and donations has steadily grown and grown and after a £50 donation by our friends at ProAktive Ltd I am thrilled to say our current total stands at £2108.93!! All of a sudden that £3000 target doesn’t seem so far away. Just another £891.07 and we’ll be there so please folks if you can spare a quid or two to push us to our goal we’d be so incredibly grateful. The Justgiving Link is below;

What is just as amazing as the thousands of pounds raised is the fact that behind each donation there is a person or group who have had Rush House and our wonderful service users in their minds and hearts and that for us is just as important as money in the coffers. It has got me thinking as to how we can let you wonderful people know what you have “invested” in by making that donation. All to often we drop a fiver in a collection box without ever really knowing what impact it will have and what good work the charity will do. So I just thought I would share with you some feedback we have had recently from service users and assessors that know first hand what we do;

“Rush House comprises of an exceptional team of individuals who are passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential. The culture that exists is one that embraces everyone who walks through their doors and as a team they have created a dynamic and safe environment for service users” – Investors in People

“The ethos and culture of the organisation is one of inclusivity and on-going empowerment for young people to make well informed choices for their future of work, training, education and success” – Matrix Standard.

We continue to work under our Lloyds Bank Foundation funding to deliver our A Place of Your Own pre tenancy programme to vulnerable care leavers. I am really pleased to say that we have a number of young people who have completed the programme and as such will now be preparing for a move to independent accommodation where they can feel safe, secure and settled. More to follow on this….

I hope that this has given you an idea of what the money we raised can do for vulnerable young people, but if you are in any doubt I will let the final word go to one of our former service users;

This place [Rush House] kept me straight and narrow……I’ve turned myself around from negative vibes” – JT 16/02/19

And that’s why we do what we do!
