We currently have three projects aimed at supporting people into EET (Education, Employment and Training)

·         Brighter Futures - supporting 16+ year olds across Rotherham to get into Education, Training and Employment, by removing barriers to accessing Education, Training and Employment.

·         Smiles For Miles – supporting 16/17 year olds with educational life skills, getting into college, completing coursework, CV building, interview skills and Education, Training and Employment support

·         Anything’s Possible Rotherham - Previously offered from September 2021 until June 2022 supporting 16+ (no upper age restriction) across Rotherham into Education, Training and Employment (funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority / UK Government)

Skills for Life

At Rush, we recognise that every young person is unique, and so we offer young people a structured timetable of group work that meets their varying needs. The support and activity sessions we tailor to our young people are designed to develop their independence skills, confidence and self esteem. Find out more here.


Pre-Tenancy Training

Section 1 - Moving on and Finding a Place to Live
This section will cover how you register and apply for a new home. It will look into where you want to live and what you need/want from a new home
Section 2 – Tenancy: Rights and Responsibilities
This section will look into tenancy agreements. It will cover the rights and responsibilities of you, the tenant, and the landlord.
Section 3 – Furnishing a House on a Budget
This section will cover where to find affordable furniture and household goods
Section 4- Safety & Security
This section will talk about your personal safety and the security of your home.
Section 5 – Health, Hygiene & Basic Food Hygiene

This section will talk about the importance of your health and well-being. It will explore basic food hygiene and provide useful tips on keeping your home clean and tidy.
Section 6 – Utilities, Bills & Budgeting
This section will look at budgeting and money management skills. It will cover utility bills and provide useful tips on how to save money on everyday living costs
Section 7 – Financial Products
This section will cover information about various financial products that you may need to purchase over the course of your life.
Section 8 – Starting Work?
This section will provide information about who to contact when you start work, your rights as an employee, wages slips and other related documents.

Our A Place Of Your Own programme is designed to help young people develop their understanding of essential independent living skills. The course provides practical learning and useful tips around living on a limited budget, looking after yourself and your home and managing relationships with your landlord and others.
