Rush House Ltd is a local independent charity based in Rotherham. Originally set up in 1982 in response to the growing number of young people sleeping rough on the streets of Rotherham. We started by providing single bed spaces to 6 young people who could access the facilities after 6pm in the evening and would be asked to leave at 8am the following morning!! How times have changed – we now provide 26 units of fully supported accommodation and work with young people to gain and develop the life skills they need to manage a home of their own. Every young person who comes to us is given their own dedicated keyworker to help them identify their needs and set their goals. We have staff on site 24 hours a day 365 days of the year who are always available to offer information, advice and guidance when it’s most needed.

All of our accommodation is freshly decorated and fully furnished, including white goods. We also provide new bedding and towels along with a welcome pack containing all the essentials e.g tea, coffee, milk, bread and not forgetting toiletries.

Our Education , Training and Employment (ETE) programme supports those furthest from the labour market to enter employment, training or return to education.  We recognise that homeless and vulnerable young people face multiple barriers preventing them from entering in to ETE so our support as always is person centred and responsive to their needs ensuring that there hopes and aspirations are achievable.

Over the last 5 years we have had hundreds of young people access our services and following recent funding awards, our EET project is available to everyone from the Rotherham borough aged 16+
